The
assignment was to photograph Lorrie Davis Bennett (Daughter of Anita
Carter) at the annual “Sons and Daughters of Country Legends”
show. Lorrie has been singing with and representing the Carter Family
all of her life, most recently on the Marty Stuart show as well as
frequent appearances at the “Carter Fold” in Maces Springs, VA.

growing up hanging in the kitchen singing songs with your grandmother
“Mother Maybelle”. Accompanied by Ronnie Williams on autoharp
(Lorrie said that no one an evoke her Grandmother on Auto harp as
well as Ronnie), on guitar by Brittany Mason, and on stand up bass
Lisa Grace Horngren.
Lorrie
sang a short set of several Carter family songs ending with her
Mother's version of the Johnny Cash hit “Loves Ring of Fire”.
Included
are photo of some of the other performers who all did a fantastic job
of representing their families musical legacies.
