Big Gigantic at Bogarts

Big Gigantic played a rocking dance party at Bogarts last week. This show was all energy with a fabulous light show. Big G is another band that is gaining incredible momentum and getting placed very high up the lineup train on this year's festival circuit. Check them out this summer at one or several of the festivals they are headlining.

Umphrey's McGee Three Night Run In Asheville With Greensky Bluegrass

Umphrey's McGee dropped into Asheville, NC for a three night run with Greensky Bluegrass. The first two nights were held at Visit Asheville.com Arena. The third night took place at the Orange Peel. Umphrey's played all of their best songs and rocked some covers including Tom Sawyer, Can't You See, and War Pigs. Robert Randolph & The Family Band Rock The Taft

Robert Randolph & The Family Band played a great show last night to a sold out Taft Ballroom. They played several originals and dazzled a few covers, including Jimi Hendrix's Voodoo Chile. They are on a national tour and seem to be enjoying life immensely. Robert Randolph has a new album out entitled "Got Soul." He was signing the album for at least half an hour after the show. The vibe in the room was very positive and people were getting their groove on. The opening band, The New Respects put on a solid performance as well, so get there early if you catch this tour. In a city full of exceptional musicians you would expect nothing less than a tribute/cover band to be the best. With Nashville's own “Midnight Rider's” that proves to be the case. They proved it Saturday night at 3^rd and Lindsley where they held a show in Memory of Butch Trucks. Sitting in were guitar virtuoso's Lee Roy Parnell and former Allman Brother Jack Pearson. Also there were guest appearances by Chris Sartin (Owner of Soulshine Pizza who delivered vocals on Ain't Wasting Time) ) and Tim Horn on Harmonica.
