It was just about a
year ago when Butch Trucks brought his “Freight Train” to
Nashville City Winery. One of the top Rock drummers ever, Butch was
happiest driving the beat. An original Allman brother, his skill and
passion on the drums helped make the ABB what it was. When they
finally closed down Butch just had to keep going. And just one band
was not enough.
There was his “Butch
Trucks and the Freight Train band” playing intimate venues such as
Nashville's City Winery. And there was “Les Brers” made to order
for the larger venues and festivals. This night it was the Freight
Train band he was driving. Not only were band regulars Heather
Gillis and Bruce Katz on hand ,his Nashville friends showed up to
join him, there was Jack Pearson and Johnny Neel from the ABB days.
Also on hand were the legendary Bonnie Bramlett and her daughter
Bekah. It was incredible night of music, we will miss you Butch.
