The famous Muddy Waters album (that
album cover says it all) seemed to fit the spirit of the show Michael
and Dylan McDonald played at the Ryman Auditorium recently. You can
see and hear the influence of Michael's legacy on his son Dylan's
music but Dylan has forged a style that is uniquely his own.....(read

In his own bio Dylan acknowledges the
influence that artists from the 60' and 70's have had on his
development. But he travels his own road musically, very definitely
rocking the 21st century on his musical journey with the
help of the Avians, especially long time band mate and lead guitar
player Daniel DeMonico. True to form, Dylan and the Avians rocked the
Ryman that night, another milestone on his timeline. I'm quite sure
the father was proud of his son that night.
Dylan McDonald and the Avians recently
released their 2nd recording, “Fueled by Dreams of the
Future”.

Michael McDonald, 5 time Grammy award
winner and arguably the king of “blue-eyed soul”, brought it to
the Ryman for his home town show. His distinctive voice and keyboard
skills were as strong as ever, timeless like the hit songs he sang
that night. Backed by a band where each accomplished player could
have a show of their own the show was a glimpse of musical heaven.
It was one of those nights when the audience “gets their hands out
of their pockets” and dances the night away, singing along with
songs that seemed to define their lives.
And as befitting a home town show,
there was a second encore where Vince Gill joined his friend Michael
for a beautiful rendition of “You don't Know Me”.
Michael will be “Taking it to The
Streets” all summer, a show you don't want to miss. Tour dates at
his website.
