As the ship left Roatan behind the Music started back up. The Easy Star All Stars kicked off the night on the pool deck stage. Zach Gill performed on the Baby Grand in the Atrium while David Gans fired up the Zebra bar. There seemed to be an “insider” dress code for the night based on the Zebra Bar motif. Let’s just say it was “wild” at times in the Zebra Bar. Later on I caught Lettuce in the Teatro Carlo Felice theatre and Stockholm Syndrome on the pool deck.

Jam Cruise 9 visits Roatan, Honduras
By Butch Worrell
The music took a long set break as the MSC Poesia docked at Roatan. Beautiful aquamarine water let us know that paradise awaited. The ship seemed empty as Jam Cruisers left in search of adventure. There was snorkeling, kayaking, zip lines, hiking, pirate boat tours, local shopping, and just plain old site-seeing. Some worked in local community outreach thru the Jam Cruise’s Positive Legacy Program. Some slept in and enjoyed the empty pool on board.

Robert Plant and the Band of Joy
Robert Plant and the Band of Joy kicked off international 2011 tour in Asheville, NC on January 18. The cold winter night was full of warmth in the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium which was packed for the opening night show.

Robert Plant was looking and sounding great borrowing from a wide repertoire of songs from his solo material, Band of Joy and what is arguably the best rock and roll band ever, Led Zeppelin. Robert Plant's band, the Band of Joy, came out with a self titled album last September on Rounder Records. The band features Robert Plant on vocals and harmonica, Patty Griffin on vocals and guitar, Buddy Miller on electric guitar, Darrell Scott on mandolin and acoustic and pedal steel guitar, Byron House on bass and Marco Giovino on percussion.
Robert Plant sang Led Zeppelin hits Tangerine and Ramble On, Rock & Roll and Houses of the Holy, Led Zeppelin hits.

While on the mellow side compared to a Led Zeppelin show, the mood was upbeat and rocking nonetheless with hints of folk, the Band of Joy covered Ella Fitzgerald's Satisfied Mind. Besides the 2011 Robert Plant and the Band of Joy tour dates below, they just been confirmed to perform at the Wanee Music Festival this April in Live Oak, Florida.
